ARAPROS® consists of 55µg of beraprost sodium, an oral prostacyclin I2 derivative.
QWhat is the function of RAPROS®?
ARAPROS® has four pharmacological effects: protective effects on vascular endothelial cells; vasodilatory effects; suppressive effects on production of inflammatory cytokines; and antiplatelet effects.
RAPROS® acts by suppressing ischemia and fibrosis through suppression of capillary decrease, suppression of interstitial inflammation and suppression of microthrombi formation.
QHow often should I administer RAPROS®?
A1 tablet of RAPROS® should be administered twice a day, after meals.
QHow long can RAPROS® be stored?
AWhen stored correctly, RAPROS® can be used up to 5 years after the date of manufacture. Please see the expiry date indicated on the outer box. Please also see the summary of product characteristics for storage conditions.

ASafety of RAPROS® in pregnant cats has not been established. Do not administer to pregnant cats or cats that may be pregnant.
QAre there any known precautions of RAPROS®?
ARAPROS® is contraindicated in cats with hemorrhage or bleeding tendency.
RAPROS® is for use in cats only.
A mild heart rate increase within the reference range may occur within 1 hour after administration. This effect is dose-dependent and may be avoided by reducing the dose. In rare cases, moderate anorexia may be observed.
QAre there any drugs that require particular attention when administered with RAPROS®?
AAnticoagulants, antiplatelets and thrombolytic agents:
Concomitant use of these drugs with RAPROS® may increase bleeding tendency. Pay particular attention before administering RAPROS® with these drugs in cats with hemostatic disorders.
Other prostacyclin agonists or endothelin receptor antagonists that may reduce blood pressure:
It is advisable to monitor blood pressure when administering RAPROS® with these agents.
